The bright and cheerful girls of Woollim Entertainment’s new girl group, Lovelyz, were all smiles at their debut showcase, already showing professionalism by giving no hint of negativity despite the current controversy surrounding member Seo Ji Soo, who was also absent at the event.

The showcase took place on November 12 at the K Art Hall at the Olympic Park. The girls stated, “Lovelyz’ strong point is the refreshing and innocent charm that suits a rookie group. The members each have different music styles so our color is eclectic. We will show you more images as we develop,” suggesting they may not always stick to this cute and girly concept.

Also, the girls stated, “We were not nervous at all despite adjusting the choreography late [into the night] yesterday. However, once it became daybreak, we felt nervous. It was really fun once we started, though.”

In relation to the pre-release track, “Goodnight Like Yesterday,” Lovelyz members revealed, “The first song we recorded while making our debut album was ‘Goodnight Like Yesterday.’ We liked the lyrics and melody so much every time we listened to it. While we were filming the MV, our manager listened to the song and even cried.”

They continued, “We never even thought about [winning] first place,” causing MC Ding Dong to ask about a promise they’d keep if they won second place. The members replied, “Maknae Jang Ye In majored in dance. She will do tumbling with one hand.”

They concluded, “We still have a lot of unskilled aspects, but we will gradually mature. We are not a group that provides brief enjoyment; our goal is to relay bright energy for a long time.”
